Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety by actively promoting and participating in our comprehensive safety programs.
- Collaborate with equipment operators to achieve the correct grade, guiding them in moving earth, gravel, and other materials.
- Work closely with city site inspectors to resolve issues and effectively communicate plans to your team.
- Use your skills to verify the curvature of graded surfaces and ensure precision in every project.
- Identify and mitigate hazards on-site, ensuring the safety of yourself and your co-workers.
- Measure quantities of materials and assist in training new laborers.
- Dive into ground work and labor duties as needed, contributing to all aspects of the job.
What You Bring:
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and at least 2 years of experience in a roadbuilding laborer role or similar position.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform calculations on the fly.
- Proficiency in reading construction blueprints to guide your work effectively.
- A readiness to walk long distances and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and implement general construction practices, especially in road construction.
- Knowledge of ground disturbance issues and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to comply with all safety requirements, including pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.
