Position Overview
Our client is seeking a professional, personable, and warm Dental Office Administrator/Receptionist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have minimum 1-2 years of experience in a dental office setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a busy front desk with confidence and composure. This role requires someone with excellent customer service skills, the ability to navigate various personalities, and the professionalism to remain calm in challenging or emotionally heightened situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, providing a welcoming and positive first impression
- Manage phone lines, schedule appointments, and confirm bookings
- Verify dental insurance and benefit plans, including breakdowns and eligibility
- Collect payments, process claims, and maintain accurate billing records
- Coordinate daily patient flow and support the clinical team with scheduling needs
- Maintain and update patient records within the dental practice management system
- Handle patient inquiries regarding treatments, appointments, and insurance
- Manage recall systems, follow-up calls, and patient reminders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
- Assist with general administrative tasks as required
Job Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of dental office reception or administrative experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and office workflows
- Experience with dental practice management software (i.e. Dentrix, AbelDent, Tracker, etc.)
- Experience with dental insurance billing and pre-determinations is an asset
- Ability to review and explain dental benefit plans to patients
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Thick skin and the ability to manage various personalities professionally
- Calm under pressure with strong de-escalation and conflict-management skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Personable, warm, and able to build positive relationships with patients
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
