Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, medical terminology, and medication administration, along with experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This is currently a part-time role (10 to 25 hrs/week) Monday to Friday with the possibility of moving to full-time depending on business needs.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering inquiries and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards related to pharmacy operations.
- Organize and manage inventory, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a similar role is required.
- Experience using Kroll pharmacy software.
- Knowledge in beauty and wellness products is an asset.
- Experience with running business social media accounts (instagram, facebook etc.) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
- Knowledge of medication administration processes and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
