Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Farm Manager to support the daily operations of our agricultural enterprise. This role involves overseeing farm activities, assisting with crop production, and maintaining farm equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of horticulture, farm machinery, and maintenance practices, contributing to the efficient and sustainable management of the farm. Duties
- Assist in planning and executing planting, harvesting, and crop management activities
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively
- Oversee irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and plant health
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and infrastructure
- Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and pest management strategies
- Support heavy lifting tasks related to loading, unloading, or moving supplies and produce
- Assist with record keeping related to crop yields, equipment maintenance, and resource usage
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations on the farm
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on farm tools, machinery, and infrastructure
- Familiarity with farm machinery
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for repairs and installations
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual labor over extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
