Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Math Tutor to join our team. As a Tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to students in various subjects. This is an independent Service Contractor position with flexible hours.
Duties:
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with students in high school Math for
Grade 5 - Grade 9.
- Create personalized lesson plans and teaching materials based on the individual
needs of each student.
- Assist student in understanding difficult concepts and improving their academic performance.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning
experience.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for student success.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the Ontario Math curriculum
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Patience and empathy when working with students who may be struggling
academically.
- Excellent organizational skills to track student progress and manage multiple
tutoring sessions
Requirements:
- Final Year Graduate Student or Bachelor's degree with Math as a major subject
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with computerized learning platforms is a plus
- Special education experience will be an asset
