The City of Selkirk is currently in search of a Pool Attendant to join our team. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Pool Attendant shall be responsible for providing facility upkeep and front-line customer service to ensure an acceptable level of safety for pool patrons.
1. Administrative Duties
? Complete admissions for all patrons that enter the facility.
? Maintain cleanliness of the pool and surrounding area including but not limited to
skimming, vacuuming, sweeping and picking up garbage.
? Receive and process daily cash and pool gate entry tickets.
? Complete daily reconciliation reporting.
? Complete patron counts as required.
? Complete admission tracking for pool patrons.
2. Customer Service
? Implement and enforce all rules, regulations and policies of the City of Selkirk governing
conduct of persons using the Selkirk Park Pool to ensure maximum safety for pool patrons.
? Assist with the promotion of water safety education.
? Answer questions and assist patrons with matters related to the pool.
? Sanitize/clean high touch areas in pool washrooms and change areas.
? Support and assist lifeguards and other aquatic staff in the event of an emergency.
3. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum qualifications shall include:
? Clear Current Child Abuse Registry Check
? Clear Current Criminal Record Check
? Valid Emergency First Aid & CPR-C
? Good communication skills
? Ability to handle, count and process money
? Must be physically able to perform all the labouring aspects or other duties associated with the
position
2. Responsibilities
Within the day-to-day pool operation, complete patron tracking, patron counts and handle all
payments/admissions for patrons attending the facility.
3. Comprehension & Judgment
The incumbent will possess the ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgement in the
provision of his/her duties as well as the ability to interpret the Corporation’s policies and
procedures governing the Selkirk Park Pool operation.
Ability to communicate with the Supervisor(s), staff personnel, citizens and clients of the
Corporation.
Safety & Health
In the course of carrying out daily tasks, must practice established safety rules and regulations for the protection of self, fellow employees, the public, property and equipment by being continuously aware of existing and new safety procedures of the Corporation.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the
organization, external contracts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace
Policy.

This is a Casual Non-Union position ranging from July 2026 – August 31, 2026, working various hours up to 40 hours a week based on a flexible schedule.
This position requires the individual to work outdoors and in an outdoor pool environment.
Due to the nature of the position, irregular working hours are required, including evening and weekend shifts, as the facility operates 7 days a week. This position will be required to work on Canada Day, August and September long weekends.
This position is excluded from the Collective Agreement and is open to all applicants.
