Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled PET Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce high-quality PET products. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with manufacturing processes, and familiarity with quality inspection standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement and precision manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for your safety and others. Report unsafe acts and conditions through EHS program.
- Set up machinery and ensure all materials are readily available
- Prepare, starts, runs and stop the extrusion line Machine
- Follow-up key product properties and reacts accordingly.
- Record production parameters and ensures a proper traceability of the product
- Feed the line with raw materials and unload and store welded blocks
- Adjust the line parameter in order to achieve high quality level and low scrap rates.
- Relieve and assist the supervisor in his responsibilities.
- Ensure quality standards are met. Visually inspect parts and dispose of non-spec parts.
- Report any machine or product quality concerns to supervisor.
- Assist in the training of other workers.
- Contribute to keep the working area clean (5S) and maintain equipment used (Autonomous Maintenance).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the line (Quick Kaizen)
- Perform all other related assignments as management directs
Qualifications
- Two years’ experience in a 24-hours industrial environment is required
- An experience in thermoplastic extrusion is appreciated
- Manufacturing environment, Production Line and Machine Operator
- Technical background (mechanical and/or plastics) is appreciated
- Ability to understand orders written or orally given in English.
- Ability to read and understand English.
- Physical ability to lift on a regular and on- going basis up to forty (40) pounds.
- Medical fitness to perform all the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to work in autonomy (afternoon and night shifts as well as weekends) and to take decisions within its area of responsibility
- Ability to organize efficiently to manage several tasks
- Ability to read and understand numbers, and to undertake basic mathematics (i.e., addition, multiplication etc.) and the ability to communicate those numbers.
- Training Monday to Friday on Morning, Afternoon, and Night Shift for 3-6 Months, depending on experience
- Must be available during the week to provide coverage as needed.
