Heavy Duty Mechanic – Slave Lake
Tiger is currently seeking experienced, full-time Apprentice and Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team at our Mitsue Industrial site in Slave Lake, Alberta facilities. Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for performing inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Tiger’s vehicle fleet, ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance while adhering to company and industry standards.
As part of our hiring process, successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment screening, which will include drug and alcohol testing as well as a background check.

Perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.

Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer's specifications.

Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a workshop environment.

Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials.
-
Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices.

Some out-of-hour work may be required for a call out basis.

Perform related work as required.

Completing daily job hazard assessments.

Some light and medium duty vehicle maintenance along with heavy equipment maintenance may be required.

Adhere to all Tiger policies and procedures.

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic is preferred; however, we will consider 3rd and 4th Year Apprentices.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience.

Valid driver’s license, Class 1 preferred.

Experience with TMT, Cummings Insight, J-Pro and various types of programs would be considered an asset.

The ability to perform CVIP would be considered an asset.

Experience with Cummins engines, hydraulic systems, product pumps, and trailers would be considered an asset.

Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.

Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment

Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.

Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others.

Ability to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including drug and alcohol and health assessment.
