Housekeeper – Seniors Residence

Wage: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour
Riverside Lions Seniors Residences is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our senior residents, guests, and staff.
The successful candidate will provide housekeeping services throughout our seniors residence, including common areas and resident rental units. This role is best suited for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for seniors.
Position Responsibilities
Common Area Housekeeping Duties
Duties include:
- Vacuuming and cleaning floors using both residential and commercial equipment
- Dusting, cleaning, and disinfecting common areas and washrooms
- Cleaning tables, counters, and common touch points
- Removing garbage and recycling
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the building
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notifying management when supplies require replenishment
- Reporting emergent maintenance or safety concerns to management and completing maintenance work orders for non-emergent concerns
- Following health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Assisting with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as needed
- Performing housekeeping duties in accordance with established cleaning and sanitation standards
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Resident Rental Unit Housekeeping Duties
Duties include:
- Dusting furniture, appliances, and surfaces
- Cleaning and disinfecting resident rental units, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and other surfaces throughout the suite
- Vacuuming rental units and cleaning/disinfecting floors
- Changing and remaking beds
- Washing, folding, and returning linens and towels
- Collecting garbage and recycling from resident rental units
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout resident living spaces
- Responding respectfully and professionally to resident requests and concerns
- Reporting maintenance or safety concerns to management and completing maintenance work orders as required
- Assisting with additional housekeeping tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing, upholstery cleaning, and other cleaning duties as needed or requested
- Safely using cleaning chemicals, housekeeping equipment, and cleaning tools in accordance with workplace procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous housekeeping, custodial, healthcare, hospitality, or residential cleaning experience preferred
- Experience working with seniors, vulnerable populations, or within a seniors residence or healthcare environment is considered an asset
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe operation of housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining high-quality cleaning standards
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Professional, respectful, reliable, and compassionate approach when interacting with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing equipment throughout the workday
- Ability to lift approximately 25–40 lbs
- Successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to employment
