Kootenay Inclusivity & Developmental Services (KIDS) is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Summer Program Leader to support our Community Readiness Program for neurodivergent children.
The Community Readiness Program is a small-group, play-based summer program designed to support social connection, emotional regulation, communication, independence, and community participation through meaningful everyday experiences.
Programming takes place primarily within the community and may include visits to parks, libraries, nature trails, splash parks, community events, and other engaging environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting small groups of children during community-based programming
- Facilitating play, social interaction, and group participation
- Assisting children with emotional regulation and problem-solving
- Implementing visual supports, routines, and activities
- Creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment
- Supporting communication, independence, and friendship-building
- Collaborating with the KIDS team and families when needed
- Maintaining safety during community outings and transitions

- Interested in neurodiversity-affirming and play-based approaches
- Excited about building meaningful connections with children and families
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children and youth
- Education Assistant, Child and Youth Care, Education, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, or related experience
- Experience supporting neurodivergent children is considered an asset
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
