Job Summary
Are you passionate about food, community and health? If so, we’re looking for an energetic and very organized program co-ordinator to take a lead on logistics for our Meals to Heal program.
Meals to Heal is a community-based program which provides medically tailored meals to community members in West Hants with medical conditions. Our goals are to improve health outcomes, quality of life and food security. We are located at the Station Food Hub in Newport Station and we deliver meals throughout West Hants via our team of volunteers.
This is a part-time contract for four months (starting in July 2026) with potential for extension to hours and length of contract (dependent on funding)
Duties
- Managing our team of dedicated volunteers to ensure successful packing and delivery of meals to our clients throughout West Hants
- Client liaison and on-boarding
- Building partnerships with local food producers and farmers
- Food service management - including inventory management and meal ordering
- Taking a lead on our social media for the program
If you have the following skills and experience, we’d love to hear from you:
- Highly organized, with attention to detail
- Great communication skills (verbal and written)
- Volunteer management
- Good at leading a team and working as part of a team
- Customer service skills
- IT skills – MS Excel, Email, MS Word,
- Social media skills
- Food service management (desirable)
- Nutrition/ Dietetics experience (desirable)
- Inventory management (desirable)
- Graphic design skills (desirable)
You will be required to work from the Station Food Hub in Newport Station on Thursday’s between 9 and 1pm. Outside of these hours, working remotely (excluding in person meetings) is supported. You will need to have a vehicle and clean driver’s license. You will also need to complete a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check prior to starting the position.
