Job Title: Senior ETL Developer / Azure Data Engineer
Job Description
InnosysTech is looking for a Senior ETL Developer / Azure Data Engineer for a contract opportunity with a public sector client in Ontario.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving enterprise data integration and ETL solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Informatica, SQL, Azure integration services, CI/CD pipelines, and business intelligence tools.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business and technical requirements, understanding business processes, designing high-quality data transformations, troubleshooting ETL pipelines, and supporting large-volume data movement across enterprise systems.
Must Have Skills
Extensive experience gathering requirements and business process knowledge to design correct, high-quality data transformations
Strong experience with ETL development and enterprise data integration
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks
Experience with Self-Hosted Integration Runtime
Experience developing data movement processes and ETL pipelines
Experience with performance tuning on large data volumes
Experience developing complex data transformations
Experience using ADF Debugger to validate data transformations
Experience with Azure roles and Azure security concepts
Experience with Informatica, including Workflow Manager, Repository Manager, Designer, and Workflow Monitor
Experience developing solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Function Apps
Experience with rapid application development methodologies
Experience maintaining and improving existing ETL processes
Experience investigating data issues within ETL pipelines
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos and Microsoft Power BI
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines
Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for data integration and ETL solutions
Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data sources, data flows, transformation rules, and reporting needs
Design, develop, test, and implement ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Informatica
Build and support data movement pipelines across enterprise source and target systems
Develop and maintain complex data transformation logic
Configure and support Self-Hosted Integration Runtime
Validate data transformations using ADF Debugger and other testing methods
Tune ETL pipelines and data processing jobs for large data volumes
Investigate data issues, pipeline failures, performance issues, and data quality concerns
Maintain and improve existing ETL processes and integration workflows
Develop integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Function Apps
Support CI/CD deployment pipelines using DevOps practices
Work with BI/reporting teams using tools such as IBM Cognos and Power BI
Prepare technical documentation, mapping documents, data flow documentation, and deployment notes
Collaborate with developers, data architects, business analysts, testers, and business stakeholders
Support troubleshooting, defect resolution, production support, and post-implementation activities
