POSITION SCOPE
Reporting to the Station Manager and under the direction of the Supervisor, the Bulk Driver is a driving role whose primary responsibility is to safely operate and care for field equipment, perform shop maintenance, and support the operational business. This role works closely with Greenhands and Operators. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position. This role encompasses two levels of seniority based on license type, outlined below.
Bulk Driver 1
Class 3 or class 5 (Canada) / non-CDL (U.S.) driving role.
Bulk Driver 2
Class 1 (Canada) / CDL A (U.S.) driving role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific to Bulk Driver 1’s

Drive class 5 and/or 3 well servicing equipment with applicable trailer (pup unit) to and from well sites, as required.

Work with Station Management to obtain a class 1 (Canada) / CDL (U.S.) license with company support, when ready.
Specific to Bulk Driver 2’s

Drive well servicing equipment with a trailer (pup unit) to and from well sites, as required.

Mentor Bulk Driver 1’s in obtaining their class 1 (Canada) / CDL (U.S.) license.
All Bulk Driver’s
-
Transport blended cement powder and other materials as required from the bulk plant to field locations.
-
Offload cement powder into field storage silos or into cement pumpers during mixing operations.

Understand and assist with rigging in and rigging down units, mixing and pumping, and clean up on location.

Ensure efficient handling of day-to-day operations.
-
Always maintain appropriate documentation in the vehicle.

Maintain pneumatic bulk equipment to ensure efficient product delivery on site.

Inspect equipment regularly and perform shop maintenance on field equipment.

Perform maintenance on bulk tractor and trailer including greasing, 300-hour service (oil change) and weekly inspections.

Communicate effectively with clients and internally with other departments, including Sales and Dispatch.

Develop and maintain strong external/internal client relationships in support of company values and objectives.

Adhere to and enforce company Safety policies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation and DOT regulations.

Establish and maintain procedures to ensure high level of service.
General

Participate in training and development activities.

Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required
-
Valid applicable driver’s license per above with a clean driver’s record.

Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, gripping, sitting/driving, walking, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.

Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
-
Able to be on call 24 hours on 15 days on 6 days off rotational schedule, always remaining fit for duty (subject to change due to market conditions).

Able to work in congested or confined areas, and with exposure to loud noises and vibration.

Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Looking For
-
Minimum 1 year of driving experience.
-
Experience in oil and gas field operations.
-
For Bulk Driver 1’s, interest in getting a Class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license and progressing in field operations.

For Bulk Driver 2’s, class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) driving experience on all types of roads.

Experience in oil and gas field operations.

Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and can troubleshoot.
