The Store Manager will lead the team in organizing, planning and implementing strategy to ensure the store objectives are met by all employees. The Manager will oversee retail operations including purchasing, inventory, cost controls, visual merchandising, and be actively involved with training of the sales team while providing guidance in product knowledge and exceptional service.
The ideal candidate is passionate about both cannabis and customer service. They will be responsible for creating meaningful interactions with customers which is what we want to be known for. Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspire, motivate and lead by example.
- Execute Cannabis and accessories selling strategies;
- Provide ongoing “product knowledge” training sessions for all management and staff to become cannabis product ambassadors able to assist customers needs and inquiries;
- Establish and maintain a positive customer-focused sales experience;
- Set monthly/annual retail store revenue goals, KPI targets and incentives to provide clear guidance and expectations in line with operational objectives;
- Maintain current knowledge of cannabis retail market to advise on operational and pricing strategies;
- Critically assess staffing hours by location to ensure optimal balance between staff working hours, revenue and store traffic to ultimately minimize payroll;
- View sales reports, identify sales trends and potential inventory requirements;
- Lead and motivate employees to attain personal sales goals;
- Provide an enjoyable, full-service shopping experience to customers;
- Provide complaint resolution to ensure satisfaction of all customers;
- Utilize customer and team member feedback to readily implement changes to improve the customer experience.
- Adhere to all legislative requirements of cannabis retailers, including federal, provincial and municipal legislation.
Operational Requirements
- Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule and coach staff;
- Maintain and ensure operations of the store(s) within the guidelines of Provincial Cannabis rules and regulations, including but not limited to training of all team members on relevant compliant work procedures and policies;
- Implement and oversee security, reporting, cash management procedures and any other activities related to opening and closing the store;
- Manage inventory, purchase orders, back orders and receiving processes;
- Ensure expired/damaged/returned products are logged/disposed according to provincial regulations;
- Ensure preparation and successful execution of marketing activities, including social media;
- Accountable for maintaining a clean, sustainable and organized work environment;
- Work in conjunction with supervisors and sales associates, executing all corporate operational standards and provide leadership to store team members.
- Assist with floor coverage, processing of client purchases, as well as opening and closing store;
- Lead frequent management and staff meetings to ensure consistent training, coaching, and personnel development and to maintain an aligned vision among all staff;
- Ensure new hires and existing staff are trained on most up-to-date operating policies and procedures;
- Complete performance appraisals for all management and staff. Critical Qualifications/Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail management or related experience
- Cannabis, Liquor, Wine and/or Hospitality experience is preferred
- Experience in Health and Safety, Education and facilitating training is a strong asset
- Working knowledge of Provincial regulations as it pertains to the selling of Cannabis
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and execution skills.
- Ability to use a POS system and its inventory management functions
- Working knowledge of recreational and/or medical cannabis is an asset
- Marketing experience including social media is an asset
- Computer skills and knowledge of retail software is an asset

Requirements
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Able to lift boxes that are 5-30lbs.
- Must be flexible with hours or work and be comfortable with ever changing duties
- Criminal background check required
- Cannsell Certificate required
