Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders, to support various construction projects. This role requires mechanical knowledge, safety awareness, and experience in heavy equipment operation to ensure efficient and safe project completion. The Excavator Operator will play a vital part in excavation, grading, paving, and other earth-moving tasks essential to our construction operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes with precision and safety.
- Perform site preparation activities including digging, trenching, grading, and backfilling.
- Assist with horizontal drilling and paving operations as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently on construction sites.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic maintenance.
- Support other construction activities requiring heavy equipment operation or related skills.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes in a construction setting.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with horizontal drilling, paving, and general construction processes is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is advantageous for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problems effectively.
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment in demanding environments ensures safety compliance and operational efficiency.
