We are excited to offer this position at our new Powell River location: Part-Time Store Clerk and Cashier, with approximately 30 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Description of position:
As a team member at Island Foods Wholesale, you’ll play an important role in keeping our store running smoothly. Your duties will include serving customers at the till, keeping shelves stocked and organized, and ensuring the store stays clean and tidy. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a team environment.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Greet customers, helping them with any questions to the best of our abilities, always providing prompt and courteous service.
- Help pack customer orders into carts, and into cars when appropriate; following all safety protocols.
- Maintains cleanliness of store, office, and register area and general front end area. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
- Retrieves carts from parking area. Keeps lot area free of debris and sweeps in front of building.
- Performs related tasks such as set up and closing duties for the department such as, returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers and cleaning area.
Qualifications:
- Must be quick minded and agile; it is a very busy, fast-paced environment
- Physically fit to work on your feet and move product
- Ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team
- A friendly customer service presence
- Must be legally able to work in Canada and located locally
Wage: Starting at $18.40 per hour. To be determined at an interview, based on experience.
