Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for transporting and organizing machine parts according to production needs, inside of manufacturing facility and outside in the yard.
Job Duties
- Maintain inventory by identifying and placing materials;
- Locate materials and supplies;
- Transport various materials by hand or by operating forklifts;
- Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials;
- Inspect material handling equipment, structures, or materials to identify problems or defects;
- Ensure that production receives needed parts on a timely manner.
Job Requirements
- Able to work effectively both as an individual and a team member;
- Able to perform tasks in multi-temperature environments;
- Able to read and understand work orders;
- Able to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time;
- Able to perform strenuous physical labour;
- Able to operate material handling vehicles and equipment.
