We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient support to join our team.
Reporting to the Director, Operations or designated leader, the Oxygen Clinician will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient support. They will play a crucial role in assessing, educating, and monitoring patients who require home oxygen therapy. This role ensures the highest standard of clinical and in-home care, providing essential support to both current and prospective patients. Our patients are at the center of everything we do.
Position to be based out of Edmonton, AB. (Casual role to provide after-hours on-call coverage only)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' oxygen requirements and determine appropriate equipment.
- Educate patients on the use of home oxygen equipment and safety measures.
- Monitor patients' oxygen levels and adjust equipment as needed.
- Provide troubleshooting support for equipment malfunctions or patient concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients receiving home oxygen therapy.
- Document patient interactions, equipment usage, and any changes in treatment plans.
- Perform initial oxygen set-ups and educate new patients being discharged from the hospital or in the community.
Qualifications:
- Current registration and good standing with your appropriate governing body.
- Strong understanding of respiratory care and home oxygen therapy.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and acceptable Driver's Abstract.
- Ability to travel to client homes within Edmonton and surrounding communities.
