Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Glass Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing automotive glass with precision and care. This role requires an interest in vehicles, understanding of vehicle systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience is not needed but an asset, along with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. The Automotive Glass Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring customer safety and satisfaction by delivering high-quality service.
Duties
- Remove and replace automotive glass, including windshields, side windows, and rear windows
- Inspect vehicles for damage or defects related to glass components
- Prepare vehicles for glass installation by cleaning and priming surfaces
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform installations and repairs
- Ensure proper sealing and adhesion of glass components for safety and durability
- Assist with heavy lifting of large or awkward glass panels as needed
- Follow safety protocols to prevent injury during installation processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety standards are met
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisor regarding service procedures and timelines
Qualifications
- Vehicle knowledge with familiarity of vehicle systems and components
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely, including large automotive glass panels
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise installation and quality workmanship
- Knowledge of automotive glass installation techniques is a plus but will train the right person
- Mechanic experience is advantage but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and manual dexterity
- Must have and provide a clean class 5 drivers license and abstract
