BOH of House Staff (Dishwasher)

Position Summary:
Church & State Wines Brentwood Bay is hiring restaurant staff (BOH). We are looking for kitchen staff who are passionate about local BC culinary products & seasonal, scratch-made food. While we respect our products and take seriously the seasonality that our region has to offer and expect all our employees to do the same, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We offer a fun working environment where learning and artistic expression is encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas according to health and safety standards.
- Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, and other kitchen tools as needed.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of inventory.
- Support kitchen team with basic prep tasks and restocking stations when required.
- Ensure garbage, recycling, and compost are sorted and disposed of properly and regularly.
- Maintain a clean and organized dish pit and back-of-house area throughout service.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any maintenance or supply needs.
- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- A professional, energetic, and positive attitude.
- The ability to work well with supervisors and peers.
- Availability to work mornings/days/evenings and weekends.
- At least two years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment.
