Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties
- Leading the evaluation and implementation of a new accounting system (currently considering QuickBooks or another suitable platform).
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Managing the accounts receivable function, including invoicing and collections.
- Managing accounts payable and vendor payments.
- Maintaining fixed asset records and recording amortization.
- Preparing journal entries and supporting working papers.
- Completing month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Preparing financial schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit and compilation engagements.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring timely financial reporting across all entities.
- Strong experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Experience managing accounting for multiple entities.
- Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks or comparable accounting systems, and the ability to lead an accounting system implementation.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with management and external advisors.
- Experience in the trucking, transportation, or logistics industry would be an asset.
- A CPA designation or progress toward obtaining one would be preferred, although an experienced accounting professional with the appropriate skill set could also be a strong fit.
This position is integral to maintaining the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in accounting systems and practices, along with excellent analytical skills to support strategic planning.
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
