Automatic Door Technician

We are currently looking for a full-time Automatic Door Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of automatic door operators and manual door systems. The ideal candidate has an understanding of microprocessor-controlled systems, is comfortable using multimeter testing equipment, and possesses basic carpentry skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair automatic door operators, sliding doors, manual doors, and door hardware.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on automatic door systems and other electro-mechanical equipment supplied or serviced by Western Glass.

Prepare materials, equipment, and tools for installations and service calls, ensuring all required items are available before arriving on site.

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather information to assist with quotations and project planning.

Educate customers on the proper operation, care, and maintenance of their automatic door systems to maximize performance and service life.

Apply caulking neatly and accurately on a variety of building materials, surfaces, angles, and corners as part of product installation.

Fabricate, fit, install, and secure architectural metals and related products in commercial and residential settings.

Test and inspect all equipment prior to leaving the job site to ensure proper operation and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Maintain accurate service records, inventory logs, and an appropriate stock of parts in the service vehicle.

Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.

Build and maintain positive relationships by providing professional, courteous, and responsive customer service.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Post-secondary education in an electrical-related field, with knowledge of basic electronics and electrical theory.

Valid driver's license with the ability to travel for work up to 50% of the time.

Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including safe lifting and material handling procedures.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities efficiently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead a team on larger installation projects.

Physically capable of lifting heavy materials, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing demanding work in a variety of weather and job site conditions.

Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Basic carpentry knowledge or experience.
