Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring they receive exceptional customer service from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Previous experience in hospitality or food service is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in enhancing the overall guest experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone inquiries professionally, providing accurate information and taking reservations as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Monitor dining room occupancy and communicate wait times effectively to guests
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness standards in the front-of-house area
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure seamless customer service
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service is advantageous
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems like Micros POS or similar software
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards, including hotel or restaurant experience preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and handle guest interactions with tact and diplomacy
Pay: $17.80 per hour
