The Opportunity
Do you love creating practical and fun lessons? At Hope Endoors, our Life Skills and Social Skills Facilitator designs and delivers engaging experiences for neurodivergent young adults. You’ll lead daily sessions and also take point on planning and adapting our curriculum so activities reflect each person’s goals, strengths, and interests. You’ll join a supportive team that values inclusion, creativity, and dignity in every interaction.
What You’ll Do
-Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational and life-skills activities such as games, crafts, social skills exercises, fitness sessions, and daily living skills.
-Adapt activities to support a wide range of abilities and learning styles, ensuring each participant feels included and successful.
-Create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment that encourages independence, confidence, and social interaction.
-Collaborate with program staff to modify activities as needed for participants with diverse strengths and needs
Monitor progress, gather feedback, and help evaluate the impact of weekly activities.
-Communicate progress with parents/guardians
Communications & Social Media:
-Develop and execute a summer social media campaign that highlights the heart of Hope Endoors—our programs, participant stories, and behind-the-scenes moments.
-Create engaging content such as graphics, photos, videos, and short reels for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
-Work with team members to promote upcoming events, initiatives, and fundraising activities.
-Respond to messages, comments, and engagement in a friendly and timely manner.
Skills & Qualifications
-Genuine passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals (including those with Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, and other developmental disabilities).
-Experience or education in fields such as social services, child and youth work, disability studies, recreation, behavioural sciences, or related programs.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect warmly with participants, families, and staff.
-Creative mindset and enthusiasm for planning hands-on, fun, and meaningful activities.
-Comfortable using Canva or similar tools to create social media content (or willing to learn).
-Organised, dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
-Experience in recreation programming, event planning, communications, or social media is an asset.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check required upon hire.
- Asset: education or training in DSW, CYW, social services, recreation, behavioural science, or a related field.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: $17.60-$17.80 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
