Long Haul Truck Driver
Amcco Carrier Ltd. is hiring five (5) dependable and hardworking Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our expanding team. This position requires regular long-distance travel to deliver goods to multiple destinations in Canada and the USA. Training is available for qualified applicants.
Responsibilities:
- Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport freight between various locations
- Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently
- Use GPS and other navigation systems to plan or adjust routes for improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before departure, during trips, and upon return
- Monitor the vehicle’s overall condition, including brakes, tires, lights, cooling systems, and other essential components
- Keep detailed records of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and cargo details
- Relay and receive information from central dispatch as needed
- Adhere to all transportation regulations and company safety procedures
Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School
- Experience is an asset
- Valid Class 1 or Class A Driver’s Licence or the ability to obtain this driver licence class.
- Ability to travel frequently or for extended periods
- Knowledge of driver logbooks
- Ability to complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection reports
Wage: $36.75 per hour for 50 hours per week
