We are seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Food Production Worker to join our Food manufacturing team in a medium- fast-paced food processing environment. We are a well established Port Coquitlam based company that produces beautiful handmade products for wholesale around the city. The ideal candidate will be in above average physical condition (heavy lifting required and comfortable standing up for multiple hours) responsible for supporting various stages of food production, (food prep, assembling, packaging, labeling, cleaning etc) ensuring quality and safety standards are met or exceeded. This role offers an opportunity to develop mechanical skills and gain experience in the food industry, with a focus on techniques, quality, sanitation and food safety protocols. The position is offered as full-time and involves working on-site with a team committed to efficiency and excellence.
The position is offered as an independent contractor role as we are a small family run facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate diverse kitchen equipment, Food Processors, Potato peeling machine, etc) including knives to prepare food products for production efficiently and accurately
- Food Preparation & Packaging ready for distribution
- Assist with the overall operation of finished goods within the facility
- Follow strict sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness in all work areas, adhering to food safety standards
- Support food processing activities
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process
Skills
- Minimum 1 year experience in the food industry
- Experience or familiarity with packaging processes in a manufacturing or food industry setting is preferred
- Basic sense of mechanical awareness to assist with diverse kitchen equipment adjustments and maintenance is mandatory. Training is provided on the specifics
- Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices in a food processing environment is required. Food Safe Level 1 or more is an asset
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, portions, or quantities accurately is required
- Knowledge of the food industry standards related to quality control and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
