About the role
NS Yacht Service is a young, fast-growing marine service company based out of Vancouver, servicing nearby marinas. We’re a close-knit team of five, working together to create a smooth journey for every customer. Our shop provides the resources, space, and specialty tools you’ll need, while much of the work takes place out on the water. We also take on refit work, so the scope of experience you’ll gain is genuinely varied and rewarding. This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious young company early and grow with it — and we’re looking for an experienced marine mechanic to join the squad.
What you’ll be doing
- Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of marine engines and systems — primarily inboard gas and diesel.
- Work mobile across marinas around Vancouver, aboard a real variety of vessels.
- Troubleshoot from first principles: understand how the system works, find the fault, and make it right.
- Follow procedures and document your work clearly.
- Work with support staff for parts logistics, so you can stay focused on the boats.

What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of strong experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting — able to work through complex faults methodically
- A deep understanding of mechanical principles and the logic of systems, and the ability to apply that in practice
- Someone who works well in a team and follows our Standard Operating Procedures
- Clear communicator with a strong sense of personal accountability
- Delivers reliable results that match the company’s service standards — doing it right the first time
