Ministry & Program Support Worker
PEARL Life Renewal is a registered charity and Christian ministry that exists to support vulnerable women and girls through support, education, and Jesus’ love, helping them embrace hope and renewal. As part of our team, you will help create a safe and welcoming environment where women can access support through resources, education, and life skills and experience the transforming love of Jesus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a Christ-centred lifestyle and a commitment to personal health, integrity, and spiritual growth. The Ministry & Program Support Worker will assist the Program Director with case management and program implementation at the centre.
They will also support volunteers and practicum students in their assignments, as well as assist with overall daily functions in the centre, such as cleaning, assisting with lunch preparation, and restocking supplies. Other duties will also include collaborating with other staff members and community partners, as well as attending fundraising events and staff training.
Position Details:
- Type: full-time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Wages are: $22–24/hour, including extended health benefits, paid vacation, professional development opportunities, and a supportive Christian team environment
- Reports to: Operations Director / Program Director
Education and Experience:
- Secondary school diploma
- Education and/or background in social work and/or ministry work.
- Experience working for a non-profit organization
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with WordPress, Canva, Sage, or Tithely is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy with regard to maintaining records, report writing, scheduling and tracking appointments.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks, which will include participant intake forms, orientation, and follow-ups.
- The ability to navigate resources and community support; and effectively communicate these options to the program director and participants.
- Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Experience creating brochures, newsletters and managing a social media page.
- The ability to lead groups and facilitate discussions.
- Have a desire to integrate Christian faith and practical support in your daily work.
Asset Qualifications:
- Food Safe Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Experience working with individuals in addiction.
- Experience working with trauma victims and/or complex mental health.
Additional Requirements:
- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Provide a criminal records check and driver’s abstract
- Provide a pastoral reference.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
