The Position
As the Marine Training Curriculum Developer, you will play a lead role in transforming maritime subject‑matter expertise into clear, engaging, and compliant training materials. This role focuses on developing, updating, and implementing curriculum using Articulate 360, ensuring alignment with Transport Canada, IMO standards, and adult‑learning best practices. The ideal candidate blends operational awareness with strong instructional design skills.
What You’ll Do
e-Learning Content and Creation
● Design engaging, interactive training using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise, Review).
● Transform existing content into modern, learner-centered digital courses.
● Apply adult learning principles to create practical, engaging and effective training.
Regulatory Compliance
● Maintain audit-ready documentation and version control.
● Partner with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Digital Learning
● Develop interactive scenarios, branching simulations, and assessments.
● Optimize courses for accessibility, LMS compatibility, and multi-device delivery.
● Resolve technical issues to ensure a seamless learner experience.
Collaboration
● Work with instructors, SMEs, and program leaders to develop e-Learning content.
● Support implementation of new training programs and incorporate learner feedback.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
● Review and test learning modules to ensure quality and usability.
● Use learner data and industry best practices to continuously improve training effectiveness.
What You’ll Bring
● Diploma or degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Maritime Studies, or related field.
● 2–5 years of experience in curriculum development, e‑learning, or maritime training.
● Experience with e-Learning authoring tool (i.e.:Articulate 360) required
● Marine industry experience (deck, engineering, SAR, small vessel ops, or simulation) considered an asset.
● Graphic design or multimedia skills.
● Hybrid or remote work options available.
