Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Support Workers to provide temporary relief and support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives by offering personalized assistance in their daily routines within home or care facility settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of caregiving, patience, and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients during scheduled shifts
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in recreational activities or exercises suitable for their condition
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with family members or healthcare professionals as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in respite, home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care, dementia care, senior care, and working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to handle medication administration responsibly following protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as required
- Valid background check and ability to pass any necessary health screenings or drug tests
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $17.09-$20.00 per hour
