Summary
We are seeking dedicated Paving/Pavement Maintenance Crew Trainee's to join our team in Orillia. This is an entry-level position for those interested in pursuing a career in Asphalt Paving and Equipment Operation. In this role, you will provide hands-on support to your fellow crew, by assisting with various general labour and paving/pavement maintenance-specific tasks. Ideal candidates are hardworking, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with asphalt paving and related pavement maintenance activities, including use of hand tools and equipment.
- Support the setup and cleanup of job sites to ensure safety and organization.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist with loading/offloading tools, equipment & materials.
- Support supply deliveries and other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of paving or construction work is an asset.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License is preferred.
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks.
- Prior experience in pavement or asphalt industry is a plus!

Physical Requirements
- Heavy lifting.

- Willingness to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as required. Most Shifts are (8) - (10) hours in length, Monday - Friday, with some overtime hours as business demands.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including, but not limited to: extreme heat & cold, wet/damp conditions, exposure to dust, noise, fumes, & gases.
