Part-Time Early Childhood Educator / Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring individual to join our team in a dual-role position as a Part-Time Early Childhood Educator and Part-Time Administrative Assistant. This unique role combines hands-on work with children in a licensed early learning environment with administrative support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the school.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys building positive relationships with children and families, and possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities Early Childhood Educator Duties
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and transitions.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Observe and document children's development and communicate progress with families as required.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow all licensing regulations, school policies, and child protection procedures.
- Work in the After School Program
- Assist with daily routines, including toileting, meal service, and classroom setup and cleanup.
Administrative Assistant Duties
- Welcome families and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Assist in maintaining children's records, attendance, enrollment information, and confidential files.
- Assist with registration, scheduling, and waitlist management.
- Prepare notices, forms, and other communications.
- Order office and classroom supplies and maintain inventory.
- Assist with maintaining licensing documentation and administrative compliance.
- Provide general administrative support to the Director and teaching team.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification in good standing. Please note: ECEA’s will not be considered for this position.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Previous administrative or office experience is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office software.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
