Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team for daytime shifts. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations.
Monday -Friday from 9 am-6 pm
In private household in SW Calgary area near Spring bank.
Client is 28 year old male. Sometimes highly energetic and hyperactive.
Able to start training in July.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance with care plans
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each person's needs and goals
- Facilitate communication using various methods
- Support participation in community activities, outings, and recreational programs
- Monitor and document health status, progress, and any incidents or concerns accurately
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is preferred
- Male support worker with excellent physical health able to help client with physical activities is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Ability to administer medications safely following prescribed protocols
- Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding for diverse needs
- Relevant certifications or training in caregiving or disability support are desirable but not mandatory
- valid Class 5 Drivers licence and insured vehicle in good condition

Pay: $25.16 per hour
