Role and Objectives:
The Finishing Team Member plays a key role in the final stages of mass timber production, ensuring all panels and beams meet Kalesnikoff’s high standards for quality and appearance. This position is responsible for safely performing a variety of finishing tasks, including waxing, staining, labeling, and packaging timber components in accordance with customer specifications and company procedures.
Working closely with other team members, the Finishing Team Member contributes to quality control, workplace safety, and efficient production flow. This is an entry-level role with full training provided, offering opportunities to develop skills and grow within Kalesnikoff’s operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Stamp and mark panels in compliance with licensing authorities’ standards and job requirements.
- Wax panels and beams in accordance with instructions.
- Ability to read and interrupt shop drawings, including dimensions and notes
- Perform quality checks to confirm features and dimensions match those on the shop drawings.
- Apply banding, dunnage and paper wrap, per packaging procedures for the job and company standards
- Apply stains or coating products in a safe manner, in conformance with job requirements.
- Apply membranes, or other materials in a safe manner, in conformance with job requirements.
- Labeling panels/beams and packages per internal labeling process.
- Tracking hours on jobs and tasks and assigning appropriately to correct customer group – per shift.
- Basic QC checks, referring customer specs and shop drawings.
- Cut dunnage for units on the chop saw.
- Rip inlay and other material on the table saw.
- Install inlays in panels or beams, when needed, per quality program.
- Keeps working area clean.
- Removes full wood and garbage bins as needed, to keep area flowing, and tidy.
- Assist in training other teammates.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and approving role specific operations manuals and safety documentation.
- Able to learn mobile or lifting equipment:
- Bridge Crane
- Forklift
- Combi-Forklift
- Electric Forklift
- Use hand tools as required for finishing requirements.
- Working safely near overhead crane, forklift and other equipment.
Requirements:
Education
- Plant Operator program or certificate would be considered an asset.
- High school diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED).
Experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or production environment is an asset but not required
Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, or woodworking equipment is an advantage.
On-the-job training will be provided for all key tasks, including safety procedures, equipment use, and quality standards.

Compensation Package:
- Salary: $28.75- $33.30
- Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 5:30am – 6:00pm
