Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator / Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have shop experience in machining and programming CNC machines using MasterCam, and Agie Charmilles Wire EDM machines.
Responsibilities:
- Programming, set-up and operation of CNC Machinery – 2 Takumi CNC machining centers, 1 Agie Charmilles Wire EDM machine
- Plan the job; how to set-up, design and create fixture (select appropriate cutting tools and materials
- Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping.
- Study job orders and interpret engineering drawings (both electronic and paper prints).
- Work to close tolerances.
- Verify dimensions of the machined part using precision instruments.
- Diagnose and correct faults with respect to errors and omissions in the program.
- Prioritize operations/jobs
- Keep informed of the status of each project to ensure schedules are maintained.
- Communicate programs/procedures/drawings to machinists / Tool & Die makers
- Able to meet project schedules.
- Ensure all work, including material and labour, is accurately reported and job tickets are completed daily with the correct part or job number and accurate times.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation
- Familiar with the setup of the machinery (mills ) with respect to machine movements, tooling, materials and calculating speed and feed rates.
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes
- Working knowledge of MasterCam
- familiar with Charmilles wire EDM machines
- must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with quality inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools used in machining
- Knowledge of crane operation for material handling is a plus

Pay: $42.00-$46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
