Reporting to the appropriate leadership team, the Human Resources Manager is a key member of the management team and plays an active role in supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and overall employee experience. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and partnering closely with operational leaders to support team success.
- Lead recruitment activities from job posting to interview participation and candidate follow-up.
- Help create a candidate experience that reflects the culture and standards of the organization.
- Develop and coordinate onboarding and integration programs for new employees.
- Partner with managers to identify training and development needs.
- Advise leaders on HR best practices and support day-to-day people management.
- Support performance management, coaching, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist managers with employee relations matters and conflict resolution.
- Participate in union discussions and files related to the health and safety committee.
- Maintain employee files with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Support the administration of compensation and employee benefits.
- Draft and update job descriptions, employment contracts, and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Quebec labour laws, internal policies, and occupational health and safety practices.
- Contribute to operational and strategic projects that support company growth.
- Participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) program based on operational needs.
- Help foster a safe, engaging, and performance-driven work environment focused on continuous improvement.
- College or university diploma in human resources, hotel management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources role.
- Excellent command of both French and English, spoken and written.
- Strong knowledge of Quebec labour laws, including experience in unionized environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or another service-driven environment is an asset.
- Experience with hotel openings, pre-openings, or operational launches is an asset.
- Knowledge of a third language or comfort working with HR data is an asset.
