Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conventional machining, mechanical knowledge, and blueprint reading. This role involves operating various conventional machines and tools to ensuring precision in manufacturing components. The Machinist will play a vital part in producing high-quality parts and maintaining efficient production processes within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate conventional machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Set up and calibrate machines using calipers, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed.
- Install cutting tools, secure workpieces, and set up fixtures on manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
- Operate machines to perform turning, milling, drilling, shaping, and grinding to produce or modify parts.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machinery and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Measure finished parts with precision tools like calipers to ensure specifications are met.
- Follow safety protocols.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing mechanical skills and hand tools.
- Welding and operating other machinery and equipment would be an asset.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of conventional machines.
- Ability to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and speeds.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Strong attention to detail to achieve exact dimensions.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
