Onni Group is building out a best-in-class internal insurance function — and this role is central to that effort. As a Liability Claims Analyst, you’ll manage claims end-to-end across a diversified real estate portfolio spanning residential, commercial, mixed-use, and active construction projects in Canada and the U.S.
This isn’t a siloed adjuster role. You’ll work at the intersection of insurance, legal, and operations — investigating claims, coordinating with brokers and defense counsel, analyzing coverage across complex programs (CGL, OCIP, CCIP, WRAP), and surfacing loss trends that drive real risk-mitigation decisions. What You'll Do:
Claims Investigation & Evaluation
-
Investigate and evaluate liability claims across Onni’s residential, commercial, mixed-use, and construction assets — including evidence gathering, witness statements, and site documentation.

Analyze coverage applicability under CGL, OCIP/CCIP, WRAP, and project-specific policies. Prepare detailed claim summaries and exposure assessments.

Identify loss trends by property type, geography, and claim category. Translate findings into actionable risk-mitigation recommendations for operations and development teams.
Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with third-party adjusters, brokers, and defense counsel to ensure timely investigation, reporting, and resolution.

Support internal legal teams in the U.S. and Canada with litigation hold notices, discovery support, and settlement recommendations.

Monitor claim diaries, deadlines, and statutes of limitations across multiple jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
Systems & Documentation

Maintain the centralized claims tracking system with accurate, up-to-date file documentation, reserves, and status reporting.

Contribute to the ongoing buildout of Onni’s insurance program — including process improvements, workflow automation, and reporting tools.
Required
-
2–5 years of experience in liability claims handling, investigation, or analysis — in-house, with a carrier, or at a TPA.

Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Working knowledge of general liability, property damage, and construction-related claims in commercial real estate or development.

Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and claims management systems.
Preferred
-
Familiarity with both Canadian and U.S. insurance markets and jurisdictional claims requirements.

Professional designations such as CIP, AIC, or progress toward CPCU or ARM.

Experience with construction wrap-up programs (OCIP/CCIP) or real estate portfolio claims.

Salary Range:
$65,000 - 85,000
