Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role is vital in ensuring a positive first impression and smooth flow of operations within the restaurant or hospitality setting. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly first point of contact
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings or questions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest needs and seating arrangements
- Handle guest inquiries or complaints courteously, escalating issues when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a smooth flow of service during busy hours by coordinating seating and wait times
- Support team members to ensure an exceptional guest experience
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred
- Restaurant experience, especially in a hosting or front desk role, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of hotel or restaurant operations is advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with professionalism and courtesy
