We are hiring reliable and professional individuals to work as Loss Prevention Officers in a retail store environment. Positions are available in Downtown Vancouver. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available for the right candidates.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have completed Basic Security Training (BST) and hold a valid BC Security License
- Minimum 1 year of Loss Prevention Officer experience
- Professional conduct
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to detect, deter, and lawfully apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company policy and the law
Duties
- Monitor premises using CCTV systems and other surveillance tools to detect suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Conduct thorough criminal investigations related to theft, fraud, or other security incidents, gathering evidence and documenting findings accurately.
- Perform regular security patrols throughout the facility to identify vulnerabilities or safety hazards.
- Enforce loss prevention policies by inspecting merchandise, monitoring customer behavior, and deterring theft through visible security presence.
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain comprehensive records of all security-related activities for future reference.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact, de-escalating disputes and ensuring safety for all parties involved.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies to ensure proper procedures are followed.
