Position Description
Provide efficient, courteous service to our members and their guests for their dining enjoyment. This is a part-time permanent position.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare all dining areas for service and assist in the set-up of dining rooms as required
- Provide food and beverage service to members and their guests according to standards established by management
- Ensure that all dining rooms are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of all menus, dinner features and drink specials
- Must have a thorough understanding of the wines offered on the Club’s wine list and be proficient in the proper service of wine
- Ensure that a good working relationship is maintained with Food and Beverage staff as well as Clubhouse Maintenance staff
- Ensure all special requests from members and their guests are approved prior to committing to the member or guest
- Assist in the making of beverages as required
- Assist the hostess in seating guests or answering phones in their absence
- Other duties as may be directed by the Manager on Duty
Qualifications Required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages
- The ability to work well under pressure, swiftly and efficiently
- Basic knowledge of Jonas software
- Must have organizational skills
- Must be reliable, responsible and able to work independently
- Must be knowledgeable in suggestive selling techniques
- Must be able to coordinate the timing of the food and beverage service
- Minimum 2 years serving experience in a full-service restaurant setting (Fine Dining preferred)
- Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs from waist to shoulder height
Additional Requirements
▪ Must be available to work all shifts year round
▪ Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (18 years old)
▪ Must be Smart Serve certified
