Landscape Design-Build Lead Hand
Collingwood, ON and surrounding area | Full-Time | High-End Residential Landscape Construction
Bluescape Contracting is looking for a strong Landscape Design-Build Lead Hand who can help drive work on-site, support the foreman, and raise the standard around them.
This role is for someone who already knows how to build, lead by example, and keep a crew moving without drama. We are looking for a mature, growth-minded person who takes pride in quality, thinks ahead, communicates clearly, and wants to grow with a company that is serious about craftsmanship.
This is not a role for someone who just wants to punch the clock. It is for someone who wants real responsibility, real development, and the chance to become a bigger leader over time.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
At Bluescape, we build custom outdoor spaces to a high standard. That means quality matters, professionalism matters, and the people on our sites matter.
We are building a company where strong field people can grow into long-term leaders, not just fill a spot for a season.
This is a place for people who:
- take pride in clean, high-level work
- want to be part of a strong team
- value safety, organization, and professionalism
- want to keep growing in both skill and leadership
- are looking for a long-term opportunity with a company that cares about standards
What You’ll Be Doing

- Execute and oversee quality work in hardscape, softscape, grading, and general site construction
- Read plans and help translate them into clean field execution
- Assist with layout, elevations, sequencing, and site organization
- Operate equipment safely and skillfully to support efficient, high-quality production
- Help ensure tools, materials, and equipment are ready and used efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, professional job site
- Communicate clearly with the foreman, crew, subcontractors, and other trades
- Help train and develop less experienced team members
- Catch problems early and help solve them before they become rework or delays
Who We’re Looking For
- An experienced landscape construction professional with strong design-build field ability
- Someone ready for, or already performing in, a lead hand role
- Strong in hardscape and site execution, with confidence in grading, base prep, materials handling, and finish quality
- Must have experience operating a mini excavator and track loader to complete complex site tasks safely and efficiently
- Comfortable supporting crew direction and jobsite flow
- Able to work from plans, think ahead, and stay organized under pressure
- Mature, dependable, and accountable
- Coachable, growth-minded, and serious about improving over time
- A professional who leads with work ethic, standards, and consistency
Who Will Thrive Here
This role is a strong fit for someone who:
- wants to be more than just a labourer or installer
- wants to help lead, not just be told what to do
- takes ownership of their area without needing constant supervision
- values quality over shortcuts
- wants to be part of a company with high standards and room to grow
- has the attitude and potential to move into bigger leadership responsibility over time
