Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class1 Truck Driver Combined as a Manager to join our team. Must have Forklift or Moffett and picker exp. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy equipment. The Class 1 Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. We are looking for someone who can eventually manage the Edmonton branch.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Hire the proper drivers, operators for future hire
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Assist in basic automotive repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
- Having crane experience is a huge asset
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Experience in automotive repair is a plus, enabling the driver to perform minor repairs on the road.
- Previous experience handling freight logistics is advantageous.
- Forklift operation experience is beneficial for loading and unloading tasks.
