We are looking for passionate, reliable, and motivated Staff Coaches to join our coaching team. Coaches will work across multiple programs and age groups while helping deliver high-quality training sessions that align with Canada First Academy's coaching philosophy.
Position Overview
The Staff Coach is responsible for planning and delivering engaging training sessions for players across multiple age groups and skill levels. Coaches may be assigned to FUNdamentals, Recreational, Pre-Elite, Elite Academy, camps, clinics, and special events throughout the year.
The ideal candidate is passionate about player development, enjoys working with children, and is committed to creating a positive learning environment while maintaining high coaching standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions.
- Coach players across multiple age groups as assigned.
- Develop players' technical, tactical, physical, and decision-making abilities.
- Create a fun, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Prepare players for games, festivals, and tournaments.
Player Development
- Encourage confidence, creativity, and a love for the game.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support player movement within the Canada First Academy pathway when appropriate.
Professionalism
- Arrive prepared and on time for all sessions.
- Follow Canada First Academy coaching standards and philosophy.
- Complete attendance and player check-in/check-out requirements.
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, and staff.
- Represent Canada First Academy in a positive and professional manner.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Technical Staff and fellow coaches.
- Assist with camps, clinics, tryouts, tournaments, and academy events.
- Continue professional development through coach education and mentorship opportunities.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Ontario Soccer coaching certification (Grassroots, Learn to Train, Soccer for Life, C Diploma, or higher)
- Equivalent coaching qualifications will also be considered.
Required
- Previous coaching experience with youth players.
- Passion for developing young athletes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to coach multiple age groups.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Availability during weekday evenings and weekends.
Preferred Experience
- Experience coaching recreational and competitive players.
- Playing experience at a competitive level.
- Knowledge of Long-Term Player Development (LTPD).
- Experience coaching camps and clinics.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
