Position summary
Department / Research Program: Cancer Research Program
We are seeking a highly motivated and academically strong Master’s student to join a translational cancer research project focused on skeletal muscle health and treatment-related toxicity in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The start day will be for the session of Fall 2026, the deadline for admission is June 15, 2026
The student will participate in both wet lab and clinical research activities.
The project offers multidisciplinary training in cancer biology, translational oncology, skeletal muscle biology, radiobiology, and clinical research. Strong organizational skills, motivation for research, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a research team are essential.
General Duties
- The laboratory component will involve mammalian cell culture experiments using cancer and skeletal muscle cell models, together with molecular and biochemical assays related to treatment-induced cellular injury and skeletal muscle biology.
- The clinical research component will involve assisting with patient recruitment activities, biospecimen processing, blood biomarker analysis, and translational research coordination associated with an ongoing clinical study.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
