Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Arborist/Forestry Worker to join our team. This role involves working outdoors to maintain and manage trees, shrubs, and landscapes, ensuring the health and safety of urban and rural environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, landscape maintenance, and forestry practices, with a focus on sustainable and safe tree care.
Duties
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal using proper rigging techniques to ensure safety and efficiency
- Operate tow behind lofts for elevated work on trees and landscape features
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, mulching, fertilizing, and pest control
- Assist with hazard assessments and implement safety protocols during all operations
- Support general horticultural activities such as soil preparation, planting, and watering
- Maintain equipment including chainsaws, pruning tools, and safety gear in good working condition
- Follow environmental regulations and best practices for sustainable forestry management
Skills
- Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe tree removal and limb management
- Experience operating aerial lifts safely in various terrain conditions
- Background in landscape maintenance or horticulture is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of arboricultural practices including pruning, planting, and pest management
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Good physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety compliance and environmental stewardship
Pay: $20.00-$33.00 per hour
