The Claims Coordinator, Accident Benefits is responsible for providing support and administrative assistance to the Accident Benefits Claims department with various accountabilities ranging from creating new Accident Benefit Claims/Exposures, sending out Application packages, coordinating Insurer Examinations and preparation of correspondence to clients, legal representatives, and vendors. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to excel in a high performance and fast-paced environment.

Assist with customer support by responding to any inquiry calls from internal staff, clients, other insurers, vendors in a timely and professional manner for the Accident Benefit area Liaise with Accident Benefit adjusters, medical and other pertinent vendors to coordinate scheduling of Insurer Examinations

Send out Accident Benefit Application packages to clients via email/mail

Prepare technical and confidential correspondence/documents to clients, legal representatives, and vendors in relation to Accident Benefit Claims

Create new Accident Benefit Claims/Exposures and process any pertinent documents, enter data/notes in various systems to support Accident Benefit adjusters

Copy and Coordinate Accident Benefit files/Litigation Matters for necessary vendors and counsel

Record data in Claims Logs/Excel spreadsheets as required

Conduct any required transactions with various Claims systems

Provide Accident Benefit department support with coordinating any unmatched HCAI documents and distributing any AB mail specific to claims files

Manage file storage and retrieval process for closed files with various systems

Process weekly/monthly statistics as required

Post-secondary education completion preferred

Organizational awareness and detail oriented with a strong focus on quality

Excellent communicator (oral and written) with emphasis on strong business writing skills

Excellent interpersonal, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

CIP designation or working towards completion is preferred

Prior experience in claims administration is an asset

Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Power BI is an asset

Specialty claims program management experience is an asset
