Position: Accounts Receivable

Wage: $22.22 - $24.34/hr (Union Position)
Report to: Manager of Accounting Services
Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation is a charitable not-for-profit corporation that manages rental units and develops safe and affordable housing for low- and modest-income individuals and families within the city. We are currently seeking for an exuberant individual to join our team as the Accounts Receivable Clerk. Reporting directly to the Manager of Accounting Services, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will perform a variety of day-to-day accounting functions, month-end closing processes, and assist with monthly financial statements.
Qualification:
The position is ideal for an individual pursuing a professional accounting designation. Additionally, the candidate will also satisfy the following requirements:
· A minimum two years prior accounting, finance, administrative or related experience
· Experience using accounting software.
· Advanced skills using Microsoft Office (specifically advanced skills with MS Excel)
· Self-starter, driven, go-getter, proven to be able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organization skill, detail oriented and able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
· Demonstrated complex problem solving and analytical skills.
· Proficient in both written and verbal communications skills.
Desirable:
· Knowledge in the subsidized housing for the not-for-profit sector
· Knowledge with the Residential Tenancies Act and the Manitoba Condominium Act
· Familiar with ERP systems and experience with ERP switch over with be an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare daily bank deposits and post tenant payments.
· Data entry, review batches for valid authorization and accuracy of GL coding
· Weekly bank reconciliations for multiple trust and operating accounts
· Investigate and resolve issues identified on NSF and outstanding tenant receivables reports.
· Maintain filing for all accounts receivable.
· Monthly financial statements reporting and internal reports.
· Account reconciliations and expenditure monitoring
· Assist with year-end audit.
· Administrative and other ad hoc duties as assigned.
