Summary
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be able to provide mechanical support to the plant operations. The incumbent will troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. The Millwright is also responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as motors, pumps, valves, controls and other machines.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for set-up, changeover, operating, repair, and cleaning of Bartelt Horizontal Form Fill, Hayssen Vertical Form Fill, Langen cartoner, Yamato radial combination scale, Ribbon blenders and all other auxiliary equipment.
- Candidate must possess strong Electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Maintaining logs and records of work performed as well as materials and equipment used.
- Responsible for checking and calibrating instruments.
- Responding immediately to emergency situations.
- Must be familiar with the use of measuring tools and safe operation of hand tools including grinders, drill press, band saw, milling machine, lathe.
- Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
- Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
- Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
- Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders, time cards
- Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in overtime assignments as required.
- Provide “on call” coverage as needed.
Non-Essential Functions
1. Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-year experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing setting.
- Holds a valid Industrial Maintenance Electrician certificate and Millwright certificate. .
- 1-year Welding Arc/Tig (Preferred).
- Trade specification as a Electro/Mechanical Technician.
- Must have experience with PLC Controlled equipment.
- Excellent understanding of Safety in an industrial environment.
- 2-3 years of experience in performing maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Position requires flexibility in working rotating shifts and must be able to work weekends when required.
- Strong mechanical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Work Environment
- Exposure to loud environment, airborne particles with stronger odors associated with spicy food ingredients and cold, hot, wet and humid conditions.
- Climbing steps, ladders and working on elevated surfaces.
- Exposure to fast paced production lines working 8 to 12-hour shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00-$44.00 per hour
