Head of Event Operations
Help Build One of Canada's Leading Indigenous Business Platforms
Location: Calgary preferred (flexible working arrangements considered)
What if your next role wasn't just another event job?
What if you could help build one of Canada's leading platforms focused on Indigenous economic development, leadership, investment and partnerships?
We're an entrepreneurial conference, media and research business that brings together thousands of senior leaders from Indigenous communities, industry, government and capital markets across Canada. With an established portfolio of nationally recognised conferences and ambitious plans for growth, we're looking for an exceptional operational leader to work directly with our CEO and help shape the next chapter of our business.
This isn't a traditional event management role.
We're not looking for someone to simply manage checklists.
We're looking for someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, builds systems that make organizations better and takes pride in delivering exceptional experiences.
You'll lead the operational delivery of our growing portfolio while acting as the operational right hand to the CEO.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Leading the operational delivery of our national conference and event portfolio.
- Managing venues, suppliers, production partners and event budgets.
- Building scalable operational systems and processes.
- Working closely with our sales, marketing and content teams to deliver exceptional experiences for delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and speakers.
- Continuously improving the quality, efficiency and profitability of our events.
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least seven years' experience delivering B2B conferences, exhibitions or major business events.
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- The confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
- A calm, practical and solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine desire to help build a growing business.
Why join us?
- Work directly with the CEO and influence strategic decisions.
- Help shape one of Canada's most respected conference and media platforms.
- Lead nationally recognised events that create meaningful economic impact.
- Enjoy genuine autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to grow into a more senior leadership role as our business expands.
- Competitive salary, performance bonus and flexible working arrangements.
A note on who we're looking for…
As our work is centred on advancing Indigenous economic partnerships and leadership, we particularly welcome applications from First Nations, Inuit and Métis candidates. Experience building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations or businesses will be considered a significant asset.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, build something meaningful and work alongside an ambitious, values-driven team, we'd love to hear from you.
